OUR STORY

In 1979, Eduardo Tijerina began his career as an Inspector with the U.S. Customs Service. Over the years, he held numerous supervisory positions, gaining extensive experience across multiple areas of the agency. His expertise led to assignments at Headquarters in Washington, D.C., an instructor role at the Customs Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia, and international training missions, including work in Ecuador with CBP’s Office of International Affairs. After a distinguished 25-year career with U.S. Customs & Border Protection, Eduardo retired and transitioned into a new chapter as a U.S. Customs Broker.

In 2000, his daughter, Denise Tijerina, proudly followed in his footsteps after earning her Bachelor’s degree. Like her father, she passed the rigorous Customs Broker Examination on her first attempt and obtained her U.S. Customs Broker License. A year later, in 2001, she founded TQ Customs Brokerage, where she had the honor of working alongside her father for several years until his passing.

Today, with 25 years of industry experience, Denise Tijerina leads TQ Customs Brokerage with the same dedication, integrity, and passion instilled by her father. Her commitment to continuous growth and excellence earned her a place in an elite business program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also completed an executive program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Under her leadership, TQ Customs Brokerage proudly stands as a 100% Minority and Woman-Owned Business dedicated to delivering exceptional service and expertise.
